"HEY MA! THE MEATLOAF! WE WANT IT, NOW !!!"

Updated: Jan 31

I've said it before and I'll say it again, no one wants to be stuck in the kitchen all day long on game day! Most game day foods are super simple for exactly that reason, but that doesn't mean that you can't try something NEW and make it FUN and interesting at the same time!

I present: The Game day meatloaf sandwich bar!

I know what you're thinking... but TRUST ME on this one! Imagine this: a beautifully flavored meatloaf... SHAPED LIKE A FOOTBALL... sliced and adorned beyond one's wildest dreams with everything that's amazing! It's like an elevated burger experience!

Style points awarded for making the effort to find your own awesome things to make this experience INCREDIBLE... such as pretzel buns or slider buns, horseradish sauces, various types of sliced cheeses such as extra sharp cheddar, smoked ghouda, pepper Jack etc... Bourbon or honey BBQ sauces, an interesting mustard of some kind and of course lettuce and slices of red onion and tomato!

If you are a follower of PSR... and a fan of Stepbrothers... this game day option is for you!!! If you don't have a kick ass family recipe of your own... don't worry, I've got you bro! (SUPER simple recipe! Did we just become best friends???) *Note: this recipe has a basic flavor profile, don't be afraid to make it your own!

-PREHEAT OVEN: 375°

- LINE A BAKING SHEET OR PAN WITH TIN FOIL (make your life easier if you are transferring your amazing creation to a platter)

*3 lbs ground beef

*1 Large egg

*2 Packets of Lipton Onion Soup (dry mix)

*1 Cup shredded parmasan cheese

*1 1/2 Cup Quaker oats

*2 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

*1-2 pieces sliced cheese (for lace pattern)

* BBQ sauce optional (to glaze on top after)

Combine all of this together... be a man about it and use your hands, and don't stop until it's evenly mixed. Next, firmly compact the meatloaf from several directions (it's less likely to split open, like the Vikings defense). Set it into the foil lined pan and shape into a football.

Bake covered (set a piece of foil on top of it) for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for another 40 minutes. Take it out of the oven and cover it with a light glaze of your *favorite BBQ sauce... cut thin cheese slices to lay on top for the football laces pattern. Transfer to serving platter. Slice and let everyone create their own beautiful sandwich! ENJOY!!!
